Prayer Request

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

I have to wonder if hospitals have secret devices at the front entrances that suck out all of your energy.  I have been so tired this week after spending Sunday and Monday at the Medical Center in Houston, Texas.  My sweet sister-in-law went into preterm labor at only 26 weeks gestation. Sunday was a nerve-wracking day.  We were so worried about... »

Accommodating Hosts

Friday, August 26th, 2011

The fanatical adherence called for by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet overwhelms me at times.  It is easier to stay home and prepare your own meals.  However now that we are almost five months into the protocol, it is becoming difficult to turn down invitations to people's homes, parties, etc.  Our family was not meant to be hermits. SCD Birthing Pains

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

With the arrival of August, my family and I celebrate that we have now completed four months of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.  We are trying to heal our guts of several food intolerances and possible Celiac disease in my son, Isaac.  It has been a journey.  Trying to maintain fanatical adherence to this very strict eating style is challenging to... »

My Tanks are Topped Off

Monday, August 1st, 2011

One of my favorite events in a year just took place.  From Thursday evening to Saturday evening, most of my family were attending the Texas Home School Coalition Convention and Family Conference in The Woodlands.  We heard dynamic speakers, we met people, we shopped, and we had a great time as a family discussing all that we had learned. The key... »
