French Cream

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

My new favorite thing in the world is French cream a.k.a creme fraiche.  It makes cakes, muffins, fresh fruit, etc.  extra-special.  It is fairly easy to make.  Since it is so similar to making yogurt, I make them both at... »

Hiccup in the Diet

Friday, June 24th, 2011

Having a bad case of hiccups can be very frustrating.  In severe cases, they can make you feel sick.  Well, I was completely frustrated and felt sick two Sundays ago because of a hiccup in our diet. We have been following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) in the hopes to cure our food intolerances and possible Celiac disease in Isaac.  The... »

SCD Update in June

Monday, June 20th, 2011

Anniversary Surprise

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

My husband and I will celebrate our wedding anniversary on Monday, June 6th.  We were short-sighted when we planned our wedding date because it is right in the middle of the Grimes County Fair.  When our children were younger, the fair did not affect our celebration plans.  However, we have now spent several anniversaries sweating at the fairgrounds watching our... »

Lessons in the Garden

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  I have not written in over a week because life got in the way.  When life gets as hectic as it has been, I try not to stress over my lack of writing.  I do it because I enjoy it, and... »
