People’s Choice
I am very proud of Jake and Kyla. They both love photography and take many of the photographs that appear on this site. Each one of them had photographs that qualified for the District 9 4-H contest.
Kyla entered three. She won two first place certificates. One was for Architectural Element class called Mission Arches and the other was Isaac for the People category.
Jake won a first place certificate as well. He won in the Black and White Animal division. It is named Tigger. To see the photographs, you can go to the article, “4-H Photography Contest.”
In addition to photography, we like to use other medium to express our creativity. Jake, Kyla, and I really enjoyed participating in the Art for Homeschool art show last week. We have some stiff competition, but that is exciting. Who wants to win when they are the only competitor? Is that even considered winning?
Well, winning was not our ultimate goal so it should not really matter. We entered the contest hoping to receive constructive criticism so that we can improve our art. We intend to continue to enter the up-coming art shows. Growing as an artist takes time and the art shows give us a theme and deadline in which to work. It keeps us on task.
The Art for Homeschool Art Show is being judged by a professional artist at this time. We will not know who won until May 15th. A slideshow has been created to showcase each work of art. You already know which ones my family did except for Jake. He worked on a piece in the last days before the deadline.
I am not asking for votes for myself or my children in particular; however, I would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to view the show. Leave a comment about which piece is your favorite. It is fun for the artists and the public alike. Let your voice be heard so that a People’s Choice award can be given.
Here is the slide show, but go to Art for Homeschool to vote.

I was researching homeschool magazine to find information related to the next few games out company is going to publish and I came across your topic People’s Choice | Texas Homesteader. I found it interesting and useful. Great stuff and thanks.
