All week I have been trying to find what you have here - Cooking 101 Class | Texas Homesteader. I am very pleased to have found your site. Easy to read and find my way about as well. Sincerely, John Danvers

Great job you are doing. I tell my boys that at some point in their lives they just might be alone and need to take care of themselves...thus, cooking, laundry and scrubbing toilets.

My kids are 6 and they both love to cook. They help me in the kitchen all the time. They have both learned to make scrambled eggs and love to help me make cookies and other baked goods. I agree with you I tell my son you need to learn to cook to take care of yourself and your family if you choose to have one. Great lesson!

Yes, thank you. I have definitely heard of Vision Forum. They have some great books, especially the historical ones. Thanks for the tip, though.

Laura,

Have you heard of Vision Forum? They are based out of San Antonio, TX. From having read your blog for awhile and from what I read here in this post, you all may really love their distinctively Christian resources.

'I encourage every parent to teach their child to cook regardless of gender.' Amen, sister! Your future daughter-in-laws will love you for your forsight in teaching your sons to cook and help in the kitchen. Both sexes need to eat.
