Our Nights at the Rodeo

My three oldest children are members of the Grimes County Jr. Deputy Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. They represent the county in events like the Pony Express, parades, rodeos, and trail rides. It is a great organization of which to be a part. My children have made friends with other horse-loving people. They have had to ride in all different locations and environments. Their abilities as horsemen and woman have grown over this past year.
This past weekend the Posse opened up the Grimes County Fair and Rodeo in Navasota, Texas with a grand entry performance. My husband and I were so proud of all of the Posse members, especially our children. My oldest son, Clayton’s horse was limping really bad the day of the first rodeo performance. We chose to leave her home. Instead, Clayton had to ride Cheyenne. She is only a four year old mare, who is spirited. She is definitely a more challenging ride. Clayton and Cheyenne did a great job working together. They made a good team.

So I wanted to show you some great action shots of their performance. If you are interested in seeing the actual performance, I posted the video on Welcome to the Ranch. Click here to view it.
It is so nice to be able to enjoy a good old-fashioned rodeo with my children. It is an event where speed and skill combine to create an evening of nail-biting entertainment. We really enjoyed our nights at the rodeo.
