I have removed the article, “More Cleaning Recipes.”  It was an article talking about cleaning with hydrogen peroxide and vinegar based on the cleaning advice in another article by Dr. Judy Stouffer, “Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide as Disinfectants.”

Since yesterday’s post, it has come to my attention that combining these two ingredients causes a chemical reaction called peracetic acid, which can be highly corrosive.  I am not a chemist and cannot explain what peracetic acid is and/or does.  However, it can explode if heated.  Therefore, I do NOT recommend using the dishwashing “soap” recipe given in the old article.

My sister-in-law and I have both used the recipe for over a month with good results, but the risk is not worth using the recipe. I apologize for the mistake.  When you know better, you do better.  Thank you for understanding.
